WUHAN, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- The highlight of the Military World Games closing ceremony on Sunday will be underlining "Jing Chu" cultural elements and illustrating how local culture integrates into the international civilization, according to Yu Zhi, who's in charge of the coordination of ceremony directors.
Wuhan, the host city of the Games, is the capital city of central China's Hubei province, which is the cradle of Chu culture. The Chu kingdom is one of the puissant states during the Spring and Autumn Periords (770-476 BC) in Chinese history.
The Chu kingdom had a period of flourishing culture and created a splendid civilization, including inventing bronze moulding, silk knitting and embroidery, lacquer work, fantastic poems, melodic music, enchanting dances and imaginative painting.
Yu Zhi revealed the performances at the closing ceremony will continue to convey the theme cherished in Chinese war philosophy -- "the essence of using force is to stop war."
The performances will also embody a spirit of happiness, friendship, liveliness and enthusiasm.
The 7th Military World Games will conclude on Oct. 27. The Games has attracted nearly 10,000 military personnel from 109 countries. Enditem
