Aerial photo taken on Aug. 19 shows a resettlement site in Yecheng County in Kashgar, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. To fulfill the mission of eradicating absolute poverty by 2020, Xinjiang has been helping impoverished farmers and herders move from mountainous regions and desert hinterland to resettle in plains and oases. As of the end of 2018, a total of 140,000 poverty-stricken people in the region were relocated. Another 21,000 people will be relocated in 2019. (Xinhua/Ding Lei)
